Counterfeit & Product Authenticity Policy

ChipTrades is an information and introduction forum. We never take possession of goods, and we do not verify what members post.

Last updated: August 2026

1.What ChipTrades does not do

  • We do not buy, sell, manufacture, distribute or warehouse components.
  • We do not take ownership or possession of any goods.
  • We do not inspect, test, screen, certify or authenticate components.
  • We do not verify every listing, specification, date code, quantity or price.
  • We do not process or hold payments between members.
  • We are not a party to any transaction between members.

ChipTrades does not endorse, guarantee or certify the authenticity, quality, condition, provenance or regulatory status of products or information posted by members.

2.Member responsibility

Members are solely responsible for the authenticity, provenance, condition, specification and legality of the goods they post, offer, request or discuss on ChipTrades, and for compliance with applicable export control, sanctions, customs and product safety requirements.

Knowingly advertising, offering or supplying counterfeit, cloned, re-marked, stolen or otherwise misrepresented components is strictly prohibited.

3.Your own due diligence

Before trading, conduct your own due diligence on your counterparty and the goods — including source traceability, documentation, inspection, testing and agreed commercial terms. Any assurance about authenticity comes from your counterparty, not from ChipTrades.

4.Action we may take

Where we consider it necessary, ChipTrades may remove or restrict content, restrict platform functionality, suspend or terminate accounts, and retain records of the matter.

We may take precautionary action in response to a credible report or other risk signal, including restricting or removing a listing, even where ChipTrades cannot independently determine whether the goods are genuine. Such action does not constitute a finding that the goods are counterfeit.

5.Reporting suspected counterfeit content

Report suspected counterfeit or misrepresented listings to sales@chiptrades.com, including the part number, member/listing reference, the reason for your concern and any supporting evidence or documentation available to you.

This document is provided for transparency during the ChipTrades free-launch phase. It is not legal advice and does not represent a claim of compliance with the laws of every jurisdiction. It will be reviewed and updated as ChipTrades' operating structure, services and legal requirements develop.
